Maybe it works well in service - I’m not sure. I like the idea of the Loki and Loki Mini but find the choice of frequencies as well as the adjustment range to be a bit odd. For some tone adjustment for the turntable only, you could put a Loki Mini in between the Mani and Asgard. There’s a switch on the front where you could easily select your source. I use an Asgard 3 with a Modi Multibit connected from a MacBook Pro.Ī simpler setup would be to get an Asgard 3 with the integrated DAC module, connect that to your digital source via USB, then turntable to Mani to RCA into the Asgard 3. I’m not using a turntable or an EQ but I use HD6XX almost every day, which I believe have similar needs to the HD600. If you're willing to give up on hardware EQ and tubes, you could just get an Asgard or Jot with the phono module, and that'd be all you need in one simple package. You could swap the Lyr for an Asgard and stay on budget. A Lyr, Modius, Lokius, and Mani would run you over $1,000 though. If you got a Modius and Lokius, you could connect the iPad digitally to the Modius, connect the Modius to the Lokius via XLR, connect the Mani to the Lokius via RCA, and then connect the Lokius to the Lyr. With this setup, you'll have to use EQ on the iPad or get a SYS or something so you can run both your sources through the Loki Mini. The Lyr lets you turn off the pre outs (unlike some other Schiit amps that only turn off the pre outs when you unplug your headphones). So the Loki Mini would sit between the Mani 2 and the Lyr+ in that chain?Īnd I’d use the pre-out from the Lyr+ to go to the powered speakers?
